Kindergarten Olympics and Stuff

Today begins the Kindergarten Olympics, which, as it turns out, is a pretty compelling reason to wear shorts despite the rain, the wind, and the fact that they have already been worn 24 hours a day for the past 17 days. Never one to let us down, Willie says to me this morning, "I look really Olympicsy!"
Good luck, Willie!!!
(P.S. I taught him a little bit of strategy--fastest person goes last in the relay. He says, "Were you the last on your relay team?" Haha. Maybe that one time...in the third grade...)
Chunkalicious twinkster. She's almost as big as the Boss. And she slept 9 1/2 hours last night.

But the Boss can open doors now. Curses.

The garden is in. I want to cut off my carpal tunnel/tendonitis/inflamed/owie arm, but the garden is in. Pray we don't die from raccoon poop poisoning. No, seriously.
(P.S. Gus woke up last night and ran into our room to ask us if his window was shut ("the glass, too?") so the raccoon couldn't come inside. It seems the neighbors have been scaring him with their (true) tales of raccoons nesting in their chimney.)

I had to snap a picture of Reillee in this dress. I think it's the first pink thing I ever purchased, and all my girls have worn it. I really should compare the three pictures side by side...someday...when I have eons of time for doing pointless things...like blogging while my children watch "Bolt" for the 800th time...

And last but not least, YES, I went to Forks. NO, I am not a Twihard. There is nothing more creepy to me than a smothering boyfriend who stands motionless all night in your room just watching you sleep. Eeew! Plus, when I picture Edward I picture one of my brother-in-laws...long story...let's just say I never could jump on the vampire bandwagon.
Anyway, a few weeks ago, my friend Juliet came to town. We were best friends growing up, until my parents forced me to move across the country. We've seen each other only once (now twice) in the last 15 or so years. She jokingly suggested that we could go on a Twilight tour, but little did she know that Forks LOVES their Twihards. We were not disappointed. Forks was highly anticlimactic, but the La Push beaches were gorgeous. I can't believe I've lived here this long and have never been to the Olympic Peninsula. Amazing!
We also did the other Seattle touristy things, watched chick flicks, stayed up too late, ganged up on Luke about how the Yankees are sooooo much better than anything in life, and just generally had a blast! Thanks Jules!

Ahhh, kindergarten olympics. Good luck Joshua!

And I'm so glad you're not a Twihard. We were force to drive through Forks last summer and it was an embarrassment. I remember sitting at a Mexican restaurant and wanting to barf, both because the food was horrible, and I had to stare at a poster of Edward and Bella-- in a Mexican restaurant! Horrifying.
