The Easy Button...and other ramblings...

So, in preparation for the summer, Luke's company sent him boxes and boxes full of office supplies. First of all, Luke already has an office and more supplies than he needs. Second of all, my garage was just starting to look normal. Third of all, they sent an Easy Button. That would be a great toy, thinks Luke. If I hear, "That was easy!" one more time I'm taking a hammer to it.

Why, oh why, oh why can't people edit?! I can forgive the occasional honest mistake or spelling error in an email or blog, but in publications, school newsletters, advertisements, etc?! Come on people, are you kidding?! The other day, Emmeline brought home an advertisement for some art classes. I got all excited because they were cheap and right up her alley. Then I started reading...or rather, trying to read. Then I got angry. I wanted to call the organization and let them know that if they don't know the difference between their, there, and they're, then they've got bigger problems than the fact that they just lost a potential customer. The worst thing is that this was not an isolated incident. Ack! (EmJ's teacher, though, has never had a spelling mistake or glaring error...except that whole "Leap Day" on January 29th incident...better luck next year...or in 2012, anyway!)

Since we're talking about editing. Here's a friendly reminder to friends and family. My name is KIRSTIN. That's K-I-R-S-T-I-N. Two Is. One at the beginning, one at the end. My parents spelled it that way on purpose, and I rather like it.

And with that, I'm off to do chores! Saturday is a special day! Mrp!

You crack me up!! I have a friend who's name is Kristin and she tells people "just like you have two eyes, I have two 'I's"-I get such a kick out of it.....of course now I just call her two "I's ;)

I have issues with spelling/grammar mistakes too...but my biggest peeve is the 's dilemma......most specifically when folks use it every time they add a s for a plural and feel the need to add the 's instead. makes me nuts!!!!

Awesome Kirs!! Freakin Awesome!! I also make the occasional spelling or grammar error but I certainly know the difference between their, there etc. I'm glad you said something! :) Good for you for being bold and stating that your name is spelled Kirstin! I remember in H.S. it would make ME more mad than you to see it misspelled :) (I think I just misspelled the word misspell...LOL)I love your crazy days with the kids... I love that you share it all with us and I LOVE reading about it! ;)
